Doctor Sanchez preaches that athletes should prepare for training like a game or an event.  Often the athlete would not eat properly befor training thus resulting in low energy and a subpar workout.  Carbohydrate, fat, and protein is what makes up total calories.  You can manipulate the percentage of those componants to create energy storage for whatever activity you are going to engage in.  If you are training for two hours you must take in the proper calories and nutritional componants to have sufficient energy to endure a two hour training sesssion.  Doctor Sanchez always says, "If you're driving across a desert, you want to make sure your driving with a full tank."  Nutritional preparation is an undervalued part of being an athlete.  An athlete cannot train hard without a a proper nutritional plan.  Often athletes ask Dr. Sanchez what they can do to increase their performance and he always replies," It all starts with what you put in your mouth."  So to all you athletes, have a solid nutritional plan and watch your athletic potential and goals be achieved.
